Life in Wuxi

15.09.08 (Mon)
Reached Shanghai Pudong Airport at 1.25pm. Almost 1 hr later, we are finally out of the airport embarking on the 2nd half of our journey to Wuxi. If only SQ flies direct to Wuxi….

After dono how long, we’ve finally reached the hotel. Time check, its 5pm. It’s a long 2½ hrs. Went dinner after we’ve checked in, then back to hotel again.

20.09.08 (Sat)
Finally found some decent Japanese food for lunch and bakery shop. Been looking for a decent one since Monday. Even the Breadtalk here also doesn’t look appetising. Went to a huge book store but nothing interests me. Went shopping, but things here are both more expensive than Xiamen and Singapore. Can’t seem to find anything to buy. Went into the most ‘Upmarket’ shopping mall, the looks on the outside can be deceiving. I thought its gonna be something like our DFS. But I’m so wrong. There is a Gucci, a hmmm…. Burberry’s and not much things else. No Tods, No Hermes, No LV, No Coach, No Chanel, No Polo Ralph, No nothing…

Dinner? Hehehehe… at TGI Friday’s. Sound familiar? Yep. We had that in SG more than a decade ago. Food, is not bad. I might wanna eat that again soon.

MacD here? Not as nice as Xiamen though. KFC, still quite ok. At least the Portuguese egg tart here taste as good as Xiamen’s. Starbucks… its more ex than SG. But at least I have my coffee fix here.

21.09.08 (Sun)
Though I’ve requested for a non-smoking floor, but I still smell cigarette at the corridor. Guess this is what I don’t like abt this country. Ppl spit anytime, any how, any place. Ppl just shove u even when u let them have a bigger portion of the pavement. Vehicles don’t follow the traffic lights. Ppl cross the road as if its their own. I admit I’m one of them too. Else, I will never be able to cross over to the other side of the road even if its Green man.

Gone out for< 2 hrs today and retreated back. The air is bad. Went to a park and tried to walk there, I could hardly breathe. Hence, head back and went to Parkson’s to get my orange juice and jelly. Wanted to get some fruits but the fruits doesn’t look fresh to me. Cant find tomatoes. So ya… I’m back in my hotel, watched my 4th hr of 西游记 and portions of HBO & Cinemax Movies. Movie marathon? You have it. Hahaha.... Today alone, I've watched total of 4 movies starting from morning. Dinner = KFC. =) The egg tart and wings here are nicer. Much nicer than SG. They have a special orange coloured drink which tastes more like fizzy orange+passion fruit. The whipped potato? Terrible taste. The sauce is nothing like ours, potatos are not really 'whipped'... but they've got quite nice salad though. What they don't have here is 2 piece crispy chicken. They only have single piece original colonel chicken. Mostly burgers here. Liked their float though there is a huge dairy product frenzy going on. Anyway, ya... thats for Sunday.

22.09.08 (Mon)
Today is a "No Car Day". Which means, no private vehicles along the major roads. Which happens to be where my hotel is. Have to walk a good 25mins to another hotel which our HO ppl is staying in to wait for Co. transport. But well, today is a cat and mice game. Have to catch the ppl before they go off to Shanghai for an Exhibition. Finally, I've acheived my target for today. Managed to grab hold of the ppl I need and get my information verified. Hehehehe...

Till then...

Last day at Xiamen

3 wks ago, i was procrastinating on coming to Xiamen. Cos its my 1st time to Xiamen, and 1st time to China. There were places which I wanted to go but due to time constraint, was unable to. SO the next time if i'm coming here, i'll make sure i go there. Both sight-seeing and shopping.

Now, wondering how is Wuxi. Hahaha... no doubt its better for shopping. But hor... the food... the packet food that our factory has. I think i'm gonna faint. hahaha...

Happy Birthday to Me

Today is my Birthday. Hmmm.... alone in China. Bought my own birthday cake and eat. Lucky thing I have Skype can speak to my parents everynight. If not, I'd be really bored.

One consolation is that the hotel I'm staying in, actually knows that I'm back in my room. Cos I received a call from the front desk the moment I'm back in my room from dinner. They told me, today is my birthday and they've got a present for me. Hahaha... so happy. =) Its a diary! and an Ang Pow look alike piece of red card saying "Happy Birthday to Jessy Ng"
