I am not a professional

I haven't been singing for the longest time. Really missed the stage! Instead, i've picked up Golf and trying to push myself to go to the driving range for practices.

I have never considered my church choir as actual singing cos the way they sing is just not the way i would expect. Most are singing from the chest or throat and swallowing gallons of water for that 1hr and complaining of sore throat. Reason: To lubricate the throat. If you had used the right way of singing, whats there to lubricate?

Admit that my expectations are pretty high and i cannot accept excuses. Excuses to not sing well. Excuses to make repetitive mistakes year on year. Excuses for everything under the sun.

In my musical dictionery, there is no such thing as "Its ok la" or "Nevermind la. Nobody will notice" or "We are not professionals". These are nothing but plain excuses to me. I'm not a professional either. Not even proper voice training. Neither am i gifted. Such is the creation of music. You either do it 100%, or you don't do it at all. Respect the music writer just as you want to be respected.

Started out with a voice which is hardly audible, i went to read up (as i don't like books with lots of words, i went to search for books with picture illustrations) on voice training and singing. Practiced. Hardwork. Till now, I still don't have a very loud voice. But at least, I know how to project my voice when singing. As for talking, i think u'll still need a stethoscope. =)

This has got nothing to do with my post. Not very well taken though. Just wanna share my gigantic tomato from Xiamen. :P
